This smart solution provides an effective alternative to common laser pointers, whose legally required weak beam strength often falls short. Our sighting rod enables precise alignment from the saw head to optimize the height of the initial cuts. To do this, position the saw blade for the first cut and measure the height using the scale or cut thickness calculator. The determined measurement is visually transferred to the markings on the sighting rod, which provide a sufficiently coarse grid at intervals of ten centimeters. This creates a precise optical line similar to aiming with sights, allowing the log to be optimally aligned to minimize losses during the initial cuts.

Installing the sighting rod is a breeze – it securely attaches to the end of the saw bed with screw clamps and is ready for immediate use. Since the sighting rod can be attached to any bed rail, it is suitable for logs of any length and can be positioned optimally. Unfavorable lighting or weather conditions are no problem for our sighting rod compared to laser pointers.

Our sighting rod is available in various versions designed specifically for differently shaped saw beds. Currently, we offer four variants for Wood-Mizer models such as LT20 - LT70, LT10 - LT15, LX50, as well as Frontier sawmills. More manufacturers will follow.
